  • Responsibilities

    The Specialized Transportation Coordinator 1 will serve as the first point of contact for clients affiliated with Workers Compensation and Special Education Transportation, Facilities based, or other non-Medicaid transportation while aiding in the development/monitoring of the Transportation Provider network as it relates to Specialized Transportation.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Expand Specialized Transportation opportunities and maintain relationships with boards of education, clients, caseworkers, third-party administrators, attorneys and agencies
    • Represent CTS at Special Education mandatory pre-bid meetings, bid openings and other meetings, as required
    • Coordinate transportation arrangements between clients and transportation providers
    • Manage requests using telephone, voicemail and computerized scheduling systems
    • Maintain manual and electronic data collection systems
    • Monitor Transportation Provider performance for all Specialized Transportation
    • Aid in the research/development of the provider network as needed for Specialized Transportation

    Assists with preparing quotes, proposals and presentations.

    Education and/or Experience:

    Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.

    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Computer Skills:

    The ability to understand more advanced computer skills and be proficient in using the internet and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
