COPPIN ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL is currently accepting applications from innovative and knowledgeable individuals seeking a teaching position who will support a rigorous and nurturing educational environment where high achievement culture occurs in every classroom. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE TEACHING IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS TO HIGH SCHOOL AND/OR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS: PHYSICS, ENGLISH, MATH, SCIENCE, OR COMPUTER PROCESSING. Teachers must prepare lesson plans, assign homework, and create and grade exams to test students on the information they have learned. WE ARE ALSO LOOKING FOR ADVOCATES AND AN ENROLLMENT COORDINATOR.
COPPIN ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL is a public charter high school located in Baltimore, Maryland, on the campus of Coppin State University serving students in grades 9-12. Coppin Academy is committed to cultivating the academic performance and the proficiency of every student. Our mission is to prepare our graduates to attend a 4-year institution without a need for remediation and enter the workforce with 21st-century skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR TEACHERS: A Bachelor's degree in content area of interest.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR TEACHERS: 1-2 YEARS' EXPERIENCE, HIGHLY QUALIFIED AND MSDE CERTIFIED; KNOWLEDGEABLE OF MARYLAND COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS STANDARDS AND DEMONSTRATES HOW THEY WILL BE USED IN THE CLASSROOM.
