Copywriter
Full-Time | Fanology / Filmmakers Ranch
We are looking for a Copywriter who can do two things equally well: write the kind of email and newsletter copy that moves people through a sales funnel, and come up with smart, fun, original social ideas that make brands feel alive.
This role sits inside Fanology , our in-house agency based at Filmmakers Ranch — a creative campus that is one part film studio, one part production company, one part training school, and one part agency. Fanology works across our own films, studio ventures, and original projects, while also leading strategy and campaigns for outside brand clients. That means this is not a narrow copy role. It is a chance to write across brands, audiences, funnels, formats, and tones — and get very good very quickly.
This is not just a writing role. It is a voice, messaging, and persuasion role.
We are looking for someone who understands that great copy is not about filling space. It is about making people feel something, understand something, click something, buy something, remember something, or share something. One day that may mean writing a sharp, high-converting email sequence. The next it may mean coming up with a social concept that feels playful, timely, and impossible to ignore.
Just as importantly, this role requires someone who understands what makes people stop scrolling in the first place. Strong hooks matter. Effective hooks use things like pattern interrupts, curiosity gaps, and relatable pain points to break attention, create immediate interest, and quickly signal why the content is worth someone's time. We are looking for someone who can think that way instinctively — and then turn that instinct into copy that actually performs.
You will work closely with the Head of Marketing, Social Media Producer, Media Buyer, and wider creative team to help shape how brands sound, how campaigns are expressed, and how ideas travel across social, email, ads, websites, presentations, and more.
What you'll be doing:
Writing email and newsletter copy that builds trust, drives action, and supports the sales funnel
Developing social media ideas, hooks, captions, and campaign concepts that feel fresh and engaging
Writing copy across ads, websites, landing pages, decks, scripts, and campaign materials
Helping define and protect brand voice across different clients and projects
Understanding how strong hooks work and using them well across social and paid content
Adapting tone and messaging depending on audience, channel, and funnel stage
Working with the creative team to make sure words and visuals strengthen each other
Using performance feedback to improve messaging, sharpen hooks, and strengthen results
Who this is for:
This is for someone who loves language but also loves strategy. Someone who can be creative without becoming vague, and persuasive without sounding generic. Someone who enjoys the challenge of asking, “What should this brand sound like?” and then actually making it happen.
You may come from copywriting, communications, marketing, journalism, creative writing, advertising, or brand strategy. You might be brilliant at email. You might be brilliant at social. Ideally, you are excited by both.
The strongest fit is someone who can move between structure and imagination — someone who can write a sales email in the morning, a clever social concept in the afternoon, and still care about the difference between copy that sounds good and copy that actually works.
Why this is a great opportunity:
You will not be stuck writing bland captions into the void. You will get to work across real brands, real campaigns, real audiences, and real business goals — including brand clients, internal ventures, and film-related projects coming out of Filmmakers Ranch.
This is a chance to become the kind of writer who is not just “good with words,” but genuinely valuable — someone who can shape voice, sharpen ideas, build stronger funnels, and write copy that helps move the whole campaign forward.
This is a role for someone who wants to write, think, learn fast, and become excellent.
