    Position Overview

    The Director of Operations will lead the supply of product for the company, ensuring effective and efficient use of facilities and staff while developing/maintaining effective relationships with our manufacturing partners. This person must be a strategic minded leader while demonstrating strong technical, operational, and financial competencies.

    Duties/Responsibilities

     

    • Leads the efficient supply of products, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met
    • Ensure safety, quality, financial, and service level goals and standards are met
    • Develop an organizational vision for the future of manufacturing/supply
    • Achieves key material operational performance targets, on time delivery, service levels, inventory turns, cost of goods, etc.
    • Working with his/her team, establishes strategy and plans for sourcing, material supply, production capacity, logistics, and availability to meet commercial strategies
    • Establishes performance metrics; tracking, analyzing, and reporting performance in terms of quality, safety, capacity, cost, and customer service level
    • Provides leadership to organization- hiring and mentoring staff, ensuring all staff are adequately trained and development plans in place
    • Institute KPI’s, monitoring systems, dashboards for continuous root-cause identification, corrective actions, and optimal MRP planning
    • Work with cross-functional team to understand business needs and continue identify and execute on opportunities for business process optimization and improvement
    • Support development and implementation of integrated S&OP planning tools and framework
    • Continual optimization of production processes and parameters to achieve most effective use of our manufacturing capacity/resources
    • Identify and effectively implement quality/cost/service/safety projects
    • Identify, escalate, and facilitate resolution of manufacturing, supply chain, or quality issues that may adversely affect performance goals
    • Develop business continuity plans to ensure continued uninterrupted supply
    • Ensures state and federal regulatory compliance for manufacturing & supply
    • Performs other related duties as required

     

    Skills & Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required (Engineering (preferred), Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Ops)
    • At least ten years of experience in industrial/manufacturing setting, of which five years in leadership required
    • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing, including process optimization, capacity planning, and supply chain systems and processes
    • Experience transforming manufacturing operations to achieve superior results
    • Experience delivering operational excellence in demanding environments
    • Outsourcing and manufacturing operations experience for products, to include a thorough understanding of manufacturing systems and tools (LEAN, 6 Sigma, statistical process control, etc)
    • Track record of identifying and developing talent
    • Production experience in a low/medium volume, high SKU manufacturing operation is ideal
