As a Tax Analyst, you'll join a team focused on tax accounting for the American Funds with an emphasis on distribution planning and income projections. You will perform daily income research and analysis on individual stocks as well as monitoring, projecting and forecasting income primarily for equity securities. You may also be required to perform ad hoc income analysis and present the findings to portfolio managers and analysts. You will also be expected to assist treasurers with ensuring each fund satisfies distribution requirements and tax strategies. You'll play a critical role as a subject matter expert in the income and distribution pod and will provide guidance that is used in the investment process.

• You have a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or a relevant field of study.
• You've had previous tax accounting or finance experience in tax planning, income forecasting or modeling and have an interest to learn the investment management industry as it relates to US and non-US tax regulations, investment mandates, investment vehicle structures, investment operations, and the reporting and regulatory environment.
• You're well-versed in using Excel to store, present, process and dissect data. You've written versatile formulas to solve complex problems.
• You bring exceptional quality, analysis and attention to detail to work deliverables. You like digging into numbers, telling stories with data, and are well-acquainted with financial statements.
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills and are comfortable and experienced in communicating complex issues to senior business leaders using clear and concise language.
• You enjoy mentoring people, dissecting processes and completing projects. You are a role model who others look to for guidance. You understand the importance of mindful communication when working within an inclusive environment.
• Your professional experience has included times when you've delivered constructive feedback to team members, verbally and in writing.
• You are available and open to work overtime as needed.
