    Job Description

    OVERVIEW:

    Core States Group is consolidating its rapidly growing Energy market into a single Engineering, Construction and Procurement (EPC) team. As a key part of the integrated design build team, you will work to drive high quality, efficient and quick delivery of energy and distributed generation projects across North America. The future of Energy is now, and we are building it.

    SUMMARY OF POSITION:

    As the Design Project Manager, you are responsible for engineering projects design, schedule and quality from conception to completion. Working with our team of on staff and outsourced engineers and permit expeditors you will apply your experience in engineering project management for the successful preparation of concept though detailed design of civil, mechanical, structural, and electrical construction documents. Additionally, you will be responsible for the initial permitting due diligence through permit approvals and handover to the construction management team. Projects under your management will include battery storage, solar, combined heat and power, generators, electric vehicle charging, hydrogen fueling and other energy related technologies deployed across North America.

    You will be a critical component of our EPC team working closely with our construction managers in value engineering reviews, solving complex field issues and working as a joint team for total project success.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Act as overall design project manager energy related projects.
    • Adhere to client requirements, budgets, and overall project schedules
    • Manage and design teams work assignments, schedules, quality, and support EPC team on civil related matters as required.
    • Conduct site visits and generate reports and recommendations based on findings.
    • Coordinate and contract with sub-consultants for specialty services as required.
    • Provide client interaction support.
    • Problem solve and respond to construction RFI’s and submittals.
    • Assist in coordinating the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of projects.
    • Coordinate and meet with authorities having jurisdiction.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • 5+ years of experience project management with civil or electrical design for commercial and/or energy projects
    • Bachelor’s degree, E.I.T., or P.E. in Civil or Electrical Engineering a plus.

    SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Strong organization and communication skills
    • Ability to lead and motivate a project team
    • Software: MS Office required; AutoCAD and other design software a plus.
    • Demonstrate a practical and functional knowledge of national and municipal codes.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Travel up to 20%
    • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
    • Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
