CoreDB is a commercial open-source (COSS) company based on the popular database, Postgres, focused on dramatically simplifying the developer experience of deploying, managing, and scaling Postgres through a novel “database-as-code” approach.

We’re all-in on Postgres and we're looking for an experienced DBA to help our clients experience "Postgres as it was meant to be."

In this role, you'll work to ensure healthy production database systems. This includes monitoring production database servers, tuning database code and objects, working with our engineers to create efficient database code, and creating/deploying new code as needed. 

About you

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage your time effectively, asking for clarity when you need it and creating your own clarity when necessary
• Experience maintaining and configuring Postgres instances, including database backups/restores
• Extensive experience developing scripts to automate frequent tasks
• Experience supporting internal and external clients
• Experience optimizing database performance and troubleshooting bottlenecks
• Familiarity with Terraform, Bitbucket, and/or MS SQL Server a plus
• Understanding of cloud-based database solutions and migrations (you should be able to tell us what to watch out for + where you’ve seen solutions fail in the past)
• Familiarity with data warehousing and data engineering concepts (e.g. Data Lakehouse)
• Broad knowledge of Postgres extensions is a plus

Role Details

• TERMS: This is a full-time, permanent role
• COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Annual salary of $100,000 to $150,000, equity in the company, unlimited PTO, and insurance (medical, dental, and vision are 100% covered for employees)
• LOCATION: Remote (we meet in-person quarterly)
