Job Description: Serves as a Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist for the Army Physical Disability Agency (PDA). The Agency’s mission is, “Provide a full and fair hearing to determine a Soldier's physical fitness for continued military service; if found unfit, determine level and type of compensation, and take action to separate or retire the Soldier when their career is interrupted by a physical disability.” Incumbent will utilize SAP Business Objects tools to perform data analysis and reporting for the agency.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop reports using SQL within SAP Business Objects Business Intelligence platform.
- Optimizes SQL queries within business intelligence tools for improved responsiveness to data requests.
- Analyzes application data to identify agency trends and ensure data quality.
- Elicit business functional and operational requirements from PDA staff.
- Analyze new requirements, identify gaps in data, impacts and risks to the current environment.
- Develop reports and analysis tools based on user requirements
- Manage application performance and tuning
- Communicates and portrays complex operational and strategic level data by designing meaningful graphical representations of data that can be quickly absorbed by senior leaders and decision makers at Agency, Department of the Army, and Department of Defense levels.
- Supports rollout and operations of the Electronic Physical Evaluation Board application.
- Documents business processes, reports, business requirements, data schemas and data dictionaries.
- Communicate (verbally and written) with different functional and operational team technical representatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree and 5 years’ experience in Business Intelligence (BI) or Data Warehouses and 5 years’ experience working with SQL and Access; experience accepted in lieu of degree.
- Proficiency in SQL with 2+ years of hands-on experience.
- 2 years’ experience with SAP Business Objects tool suite including Web Intelligence Report Designer.
- General Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence knowledge including data modeling and Key Performance Indicators (PKIs) preferably in the SAP Business Objects environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Understanding of standard business software products (Microsoft Office).

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Army human resources data and processes.
