    Job Description

    DESCRIPTION:

    • The Virtualization Systems Administrator - Containers provides top-tier support for the virtual infrastructure: Kubernetes, OpenShift, and VMware Suite. Leverage common tools to monitor and maintain the environment. The role is primarily focused on tickets escalated from lower tiers, implementing project tasks and updates, and maintaining operational documentation.

      PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in the day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting of the container environment.
    • Review existing capacity and demand forecast to document scaling needs.
    • Support the deployment of new Kubernetes resources and projects.
    • Assist with new operators into the container environment at the direction of Engineering.
    • Deploy updates and new features into the pre-production and production environments.
    • Manage and resolve incidents and problems related to the virtualization platform.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

     QUALIFICATIONS:

    • At least 5 years’ experience with Linux based operating systems.
    • Working Knowledge of Kubernetes infrastructure and operations.
    • At least 5 years’ experience managing and supporting VMWare vCenter and ESXi.
    • Ability to develop scripts to automate common tasks.
    • Ability to support basic administrative tasks in Windows and Linux systems.
    • Understanding of high-level concepts across network, storage, and database technologies.
    • Well-practiced troubleshooting methodology.
    • Ability to maintain calm and patient attitude under pressure.
    • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift frequently.
    • Ability to communicate design, installation, and support of a solution through documentation.
    • Ability to translate and present complicated technical concepts to a less-technical audience.
    • Strong verbal communication across audiences (such as technical co-workers, end users, and management).
    • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
    • Ability to attain new technical skills and share knowledge with teammates.
