Accounting Restaurant Controller

Foya Hospitality Group is a high growth multi-unit, fast casual restaurant group headquartered in Irvington, NJ. FHG owns and operates restaurants under several multi-unit brands including IHOP, Cornbread Farm to Soul and Urban Vegan. The company is in growth mode, with new restaurant expansions planned for the New York/New Jersey metro area. We are searching for an experienced, skilled Controller who will be responsible for the financial operations and accounting team. Experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry is required. A solid track record in managing corporate accounting and financial reporting. Our ideal Controller will be adept at leading others, who will teach, mentor, and develop the team to succeed. The role of the Controller includes but is not limited to: general accounting, accounts receivable/payable, budgeting, audit support, quarterly analysis/reporting, and monthly reconciliations.

Corporate Restaurant Controller Responsibilities:

Manage the daily finances and accounting of all company-owned and managed locations

Assist in driving overall company profitability

Great at developing people and helping them achieve their goals

Manage general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable

Manage relationships with outside service providers

Organized and strategic, strong communicator, and team player

GAAP Accounting

Corporate Restaurant Controller Qualifications:

5+ years of experience as a Corporate Controller within the restaurant/hospitality industry preferred

This is a “hands-on” role. You must be actively involved while managing a small team

Ability to lead an accounting dept and work well with others

Strong focus on managing financial operations and cost improvements

Hands-on controller experience is a must with a solid work ethic

Accounting degree preferred
