    PURPOSE/GOALS

    This position actively provides support and is a liaison between management and the facility’s associates to facilitate ongoing health and safety programs.

    Qualifications

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Effectively promote health and safety programs at the associate level.

    2. Assist in injury prevention programs.

    3. Maintain safety records and track incident corrective actions to completion.

    4. Assist in incident investigations, including root cause analysis, corrective action. development and follow-up for completion of action items.

    5. Assist EHS Manager in developing and preparing safety training material, programs and conduct training.

    6. Guides the safety committee.

    7. Maintain OSHA 300 logs as directed by EHS/HR Manager.

    8. Maintain and update Safety and Health programs/plans.

    9. Conduct safety orientation training for all new hires.

    10. Complete safety audits on a monthly basis.

    11. Complete safety assessment as needed.

    12. Compile monthly data collection metrics as defined by EHS/Plant Manager.

    13. Must be able to attend and complete 30-hour OSHA training or OSHA 511.

    14. Performs duty as assigned.

    Additional Information

    EDUCATION

    High School graduate/GED required. Some college or business school course preferred.

    Bilingual where needed.

    EXPERIENCE

    Minimum of one-year experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous safety experience required.

    SKILLS/ ABILITIES

    1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    2. Basic Computer skills. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    3. Ability to prioritize and multitask.

    4. Broad understanding of plant operations and manufacturing processes and problem solving.

    5. Very strong desire to learn and willing to tackle new challenges. In doing so, can demonstrate competence in application of safety and environmental policies and regulations.

    6. Must have a passion to learn about safety- Strong belief in Safety

    7. Working knowledge of OSHA Regulations

    PREFERRED SKILLS

    10 or 30 hr OSHA certification; situation de-escalation, First Aid, CPR Certified, Leadership training, LOTO, Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety.
