    Job Description

    As the Content & Media Marketing Manager, you will develop, execute, and manage inbound and outbound marketing and public relations strategies across the Shelter Solutions brand portfolio. The role oversees the acquisition, creation and distribution of compelling content in multiple formats to drive higher customer and prospect engagement, and build positive reputation online and offline.

    You will plan, create, and schedule engaging and relevant content across various media channels, such as trade media, local media, blogs, social media, podcasts, events, videos, webinars, and more—as well as manage performance and implement ongoing optimization.

    You will work in partnership with other marketing disciplines to execute tactics such as SEO, paid media, email marketing, and product marketing aligned with our overall business goals. You will also collaborate with external partners, such as influencers, media outlets, and agencies, to amplify our brand awareness and reach new audiences.

    This position has a virtual-first hybrid work arrangement with a preferred location in Houston, TX with a minimum of two days a week in the office or co-located with other team members.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manages a small team responsible for content, advertising, PR and communications tactics aligned with business strategies
    • Creates content plans, calendars and budgets designed to optimize lead generation and customer engagement for all brands
    • Oversees the creation and distribution of engaging and relevant content across various media channels, such as blogs, social media, podcasts, videos, webinars, and more
    • Plans and coordinates all public relations activities, such as press releases, events, interviews, and media relations at the brand level, in collaboration with Corporate Marketing
    • Optimizes messages across all owned, earned and paid media platforms to achieve brand marketing objectives; regularly monitoring and reporting on campaign performance
    • Oversees and approves activation of national marketing programs at the local level through community engagement, in-store experiences, and local media
    • Develops and maintains a positive and consistent image and reputation for our brands, online and offline
    • Leverages existing media relationships and cultivates new contacts within business and industry media outlets
    • Evaluates opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising on an ongoing basis
    • Builds relationships with thought leaders, influencers, and stakeholders to grow industry awareness and credibility
    • Directs third party agencies on strategy, prioritization and allocates necessary investments to support marketing objectives
    • Oversees the acquisition, creation and management of digital assets including but not limited to videography, photography, and designed assets
    • Produces and maintains marketing literature, presentations and sales enablement resources
    • Provides training and onboarding resources to sales teams for deployed campaigns
    • Ensures our brands’ value propositions and key messages are appropriately communicated through all mediums, considering multiple audiences and channels
    • Optimizes content mix, media and distribution channel in partnership with marketing team
    • Deeply understands customer personas and buying journeys to optimize content.
    • Analyzes and interprets campaign performance data to inform content creation, optimize marketing strategies, and report on content marketing initiatives
    • Acts as a partner to Corporate Marketing by advising as needed on Shelter Solutions branding, advertising, media, collateral, events, literature, and digital marketing.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, English or a related field
    • At least 7 years of experience in a marketing, PR, media, content development or communications role
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different styles and formats for various customer segments and channels
    • Outstanding copywriting and storytelling skills
    • Proven ability to translate features and benefits into compelling marketing copy
    • Proficiency in SEO best practices, content marketing trends, and media relations.
    • Demonstrated experience in traditional and digital media buying
    • Proficiency in using various content management systems, social media platforms, and reputation management tools
    • Strong understanding of demand generation best practices
    • Demonstrated project management skills and proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
    • Ability to switch from the creative side of marketing to analytical side; able to demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound
    • Ability to work well and communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels of an organization
    • A strong portfolio of content and media projects that demonstrate your creativity and impact.
    • A growth mindset, with a willingness to learn new skills and experiment with new ideas.
    • A team player attitude, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to successfully execute projects in a matrix organization with varied stakeholders and priorities
