Job Description

The Human Resources Representative provides administrative support to the Human Resources department at the PlyGem manufacturing plant in Auburn, WA. The HR representative will support and assist efforts to build a strong company culture of Safety, Integrity, and Inclusion. This role is employee-facing and requires strong interpersonal and communications skills to guide employees through policies, processes, and work requirements. In addition, this function will perform administrative tasks to ensure safety, consistency, and compliance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists HR team with various day-to-day tasks, provide administrative support, and respond to inquiries
• Provides team members with high quality service in answering questions on HR systems and HR related items (payroll, benefits, etc.)
• Reprioritizes actions for immediate implementation of ad-hoc topics or assignments
• Maintains human resource data and records, including employment files Compiles and collates human resource data and records for internal and external customers, providing accurate and relevant information
• Answers routine inquiries from internal and external customers regarding employment verifications, job openings, company policies, and procedures within the scope and responsibilities of the position
• Assembles and compiles various data/reports for human resources, managers and supervisors
• Assists with employee events and other morale building activities to ensure the site is driving an employer of choice culture
• Coordinates general training and listening sessions (Dayforce, compliance for hourly employees, lunch and learns, invites, note taking, etc.)
• Researches and orders department supplies as requested
• May assist with updating KPI/data for daily Accountability Meetings
• Understands and utilizes HRIS system to assist with reporting needs, attendance, etc. for the HR Manager
• Assists with special projects
• Assists applicants/candidates throughout the hiring process
  • Assists applicants in completing employment applications
  • Coordinates on-site interviews, drug screens and background checks
  • Sets up personnel and medical files for all new employees
  • Assembles material for new hire packets
  • Assists the site with providing a best-in-class orientation experience that engages new hires
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality when completing various administrative activities

Qualifications

• AA degree preferred
• Professional certification strongly preferred
• 2 years of progressively responsible experience in a Human Resources environment
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
• Knowledge of and proficient in the use of personal computer and a variety of standard business software programs, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and HRIS system
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Ability to organize and problem solve
• Ability to develop and maintain rapport with a wide variety of individuals
• Ability to be sensitive and show positive regard to customers, co-workers and job applicants
• Ability to effectively perform job duties under a high level of activity and a variety of conditions and restraints
• Ability to meet company and departmental appearance standards on the job.
• Skill and the ability to demonstrate professional business etiquette
• Skill in interpersonal relationships with emphasis on reaching out, being friendly and showing courtesy

The US base pay range for this full-time position is $23.00 per hour to $28.00 per hour + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
