JOB DETAILS:

Base pay starts at $19.50 - $21.50 (DOE)

Shift: First Shift - 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM - Monday - Thursday

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The QA Technician conducts detailed inspections of fabricated parts, welded assemblies, performs product and process audits, and supports all work centers. Daily duties are directed by the Quality Manager, all activities support the Cornerstone Quality Management System.

• Perform visual, dimensional, and testing as required on products and completed assemblies
• Perform visual weld inspection and Ultrasonic weld testing
• Interpret complex assembly drawings, three view drawings, section views, lines, and abbreviations
• Support fitters and welders with knowledge of weld symbols, abbreviations, joints, and weld drawings
• Must possess basic computer knowledge and be familiar with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Outlook
• Conduct and ensure operator compliance to Critical To Quality, Customer Focused Audits, and No Defects Forward philosophy
• Assist with Quick Problem Solving QPS and support/participate in Kaizen and problem-solving events
• Basic knowledge and use of measurement devices: Calipers, Tape Measures, Weld Fillet gages, Protractors
• Audit machine settings, assess final product conformance to shop drawings

Qualifications

• Dimensional measurement and visual weld inspection experience
• Familiar with Excel spreadsheets, data entry, Outlook
• Shop and Weld drawing interpretation, tolerances, views, lines, abbreviations
• Mathematical skills, decimal/fractional, trigonometry
• Must possess Jaeger J2 visual acuity
• Must possess record keeping and data entry skills (neat, clear and concise report completions)
• Must complete skills assessment test
• High school diploma
• ASQ certification helpful
• AWS certification helpful
• Must be willing to pursue Ultrasonic Testing Leve 1 and Level 2 and Canadian Weld
• Bureau Weld Supervisor Certification
