  • Responsibilities

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Manage and Perform Pesticide and Fertilization program on commercial accounts

    • Treat specific insect, weed, turf, shrub and ornamental disease and nutritional requirements by dry or wet application of appropriate product

    • Maintain assigned power spray equipment in a safe, clean and mechanically sound condition

    • Ensure all equipment is stored properly and securely

    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations

    • Follow schedule of pesticide jobs by client and complete all applications as specified in the time allotted

    • Maintain current Pesticide license through State of Texas

    • Record work hours in company system via (company-supplied) smart phone application.

    • Complete required pesticide application records and chemical usage

    • Attend training for satisfaction of Continuing Education Unit requirements for Pesticide license

    • Submit orders for chemical and fertilizer product sourcing best product and price for requested applications

    • Follow company safety policies on the job site and in the truck by wearing appropriate PPE, identifying and mitigating worksite hazards

    • Drive a truck from site to site ensuring loads are safely secured on truck

    • Ensure all inventory is on truck, perform truck inspections on tires, oil, etc. Reports issues to mechanic or supervisor immediately

    • Night-time performance of Mosquito Abatement program required 10 months a year for additional piece-rate based compensation

    • Follow company procedures in case of accidents, theft, or injuries and call supervisor immediately

    • Be polite and respectful when dealing with all individuals (clients/residents, employees, vendors)

    • Must be knowledgeable in worksite safety, hazard recognition and use of proper PPE.
    • Must be able to read and follow a work schedule
    • Must be comfortable using a mobile device to access schedule and record job time and completions
    • Dependable and Punctual attendance is required
    • Effective communication is necessary
    • Responsible attitude to maintain LHLC standards for safety, work quality, customer service, and respect for team member
    • Handle equipment and tools with care and take steps to prevent loss/damage due to theft, vandalism or accident
    • Tolerate a wide range of outdoor temperatures, climates and conditions

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum 2 years' experience in chemical or fertilizer applications (wet or dry)
    • Must have at least a current Pesticide Applicator's License through Texas Department of Agriculture
    • Must be able to work independently
    • Valid TX Driver's License
    • Clean Driving Record (no more than 2 infractions within last two years)
    • Bilingual – English/Spanish is a plus

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • High School Diploma or GED Desired
