Jennie Joiner with The Forum Group PNW is working with our large, multi-entity organization with operations across multiple states to fill an Accounting Assistant (AP heavy) to join its accounting team at their Eugene corporate office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys high-volume data entry, structured processes, and working as part of a long-standing, collaborative team. This is a fully onsite position but does offer flexibility for family needs.

    Position Overview

The Corporate Accounting Assistant will focus primarily on Accounts Payable processing while supporting general ledger functions. This role involves high-volume invoice entry, vendor communication, reconciliations, and cross-department coordination. The environment is process-driven and paper-based, utilizing a legacy accounting system. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, 10-key accuracy, and comfort working in a heads-down, high-volume data entry setting.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform high-volume data entry of vendor invoices and supplier transactions (approximately 3,000 invoices per month, with heavier volume at the beginning of each month)
    • Accurately enter invoice data from paper documents into a legacy accounting system
    • Reconcile vendor statements to internal ledger accounts on a monthly basis
    • Research and resolve discrepancies related to past-due invoices and payment variances
    • Process vendor payments through internal systems and vendor portals
    • Communicate with vendors regarding account inquiries and payment issues
    • Partner with internal store locations to troubleshoot invoice discrepancies and GL coding questions
    • Maintain organized and accurate records of transactions

    What Makes This Role Unique

    • Heavy data-entry focus with strong emphasis on accuracy over speed
    • Paper-based workflow with a non-web-based accounting system
    • High-volume processing environment
    • Established, collaborative accounting team with strong tenure
    • Annual performance reviews with potential cost-of-living adjustments

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys focused, task-oriented work and takes pride in precision and consistency.

    Qualifications

    • Associate degree in Accounting or 3–5 years of relevant AP accounting experience preferred
    • Strong 10-key by touch skills (accuracy is critical)
    • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable cycles
    • Experience with account reconciliation
    • Intermediate Excel skills
    • Ability to learn legacy systems and vendor web portals
    • Experience in a multi-entity accounting environment is beneficial but not required

    Ideal Candidate Profile

    • Highly detail-oriented and accurate
    • Comfortable working independently in a structured, heads-down environment
    • Calm, steady, and team-oriented personality
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Self-motivated with the ability to problem-solve vendor and internal discrepancies
