    Thriving equipment manufacturing company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Corporate Controller to join the team at their corporate offices in Los Angeles. As a key leader, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the current and long-term effectiveness and efficiency of financial organization and functions. This multifaceted role encompasses responsibilities such as SEC Reporting, compliance with SOX 404(b), internal financial accounting, corporate taxation, risk management, budgeting, payroll, and employee benefit plans.

    Responsibilities

    • Strategic SEC Reporting: Prepare and oversee the submission of Form 10K, Form 10Q, Form 11K, and ensure compliance with SOX 404(b) requirements, presenting a transparent financial picture to stakeholders.
    • Financial Systems Stewardship: Direct the maintenance of information systems, all aspects of accounting cycles, and accounting practices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Tax Management: Take charge of corporate tax preparation, covering federal and state income taxes, sales and use taxes, payroll taxes, property taxes, and other relevant taxes.
    • Cost Analysis: Lead cost accounting and analysis efforts, offering insight into trends, deviations from standards, and guidance to the manufacturing facilities in line with financial policies.
    • Benefit Plan Administration: Play an active role in the administration of corporate benefit plans, including 401(k), qualified pension, non-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans.
    • Leadership and Management: Effectively manage the finance department through employee selection, development, pay administration, budget management, employee counseling, motivation, and goal setting. Organize, integrate, and measure departmental work to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field is required.
    • CPA is required. MBA or CMA is a plus.
    • 10+ years of professional experience in financial accounting and financial analysis. Experience in cost accounting aspects of a manufacturing and distribution Corporation is required.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word is required. You must be able to build and analyze complex spreadsheets.
    • Be highly organized, with strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to set priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Be flexible in undertaking other duties as assigned and required, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
    • Experience with public disclosures for a publicly traded company is highly desirable.
    • Hands on experience with SAP is a plus.
    • Experience in ERP system implementation is highly valued.
