We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Corporate Hotel Controller to join our finance team.
Job Summary:
The Corporate Hotel Controller will oversee all financial aspects of our hotels, ensuring effective financial management, accurate reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role will work closely with property accountants and management teams to drive financial performance, optimize resource allocation, and support strategic initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management and Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple hotel properties.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to senior management for decision-making.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with hotel management teams to develop realistic revenue forecasts and expense budgets.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions where necessary.
3. Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct regular audits of hotel financials and operations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
4. Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Supervise and mentor property accountants and finance staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Act as a liaison between hotel operations and the corporate finance team, facilitating communication and collaboration on financial matters.
5. Strategic Financial Planning:
- Support strategic initiatives by providing financial analysis and recommendations for investment opportunities, cost-saving measures, and profit maximization strategies.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term financial planning and growth strategies.
6. Ad-hoc Projects and Initiatives:
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management, contributing financial expertise and analysis to support business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of accounting/finance experience in the hospitality industry, with a focus on hotel financial management.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and accounting principles, including revenue management and cost control.
- Proficient in financial software and ERP systems; experience with [specific software, if applicable].
