Jennie Joiner with the Forum Group PNW is assisting our Eugene Industry Services Industry client with filling their Corporate Inventory Accountant position. The Corporate Inventory Accountant will be part of a small, highly detailed accounting team responsible for inventory-related accounting activities tied to large equipment purchases and sales. This role requires a solid foundation in general accounting principles, strong attention to detail, and the ability to recognize and question transactions that do not appear accurate. This position is 100 percent on site and is ideal for someone who enjoys accuracy, structure, and working closely with operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices related to equipment purchases
- Record inventory assets using specific identification details for each piece of equipment
- Maintain and update inventory asset records in the ERP system
- Enter invoices accurately so they can be processed for payment
- Record sales, cost of sale, and related general ledger entries
- Understand and support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transaction flows
- Apply debits and credits correctly across asset, liability, revenue, and cost of sale accounts
- Identify discrepancies or unusual requests and escalate concerns appropriately
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve questions or issues
- Maintain accuracy in a high volume, data driven environment
Required Qualifications
- Two-year accounting degree or three to four years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong understanding of debits and credits
- Experience with assets and liabilities versus revenue and cost of sale
- Inventory costing experience preferred
- ERP system experience
- Solid understanding of accruals, liabilities, and general ledger accounting
- Strong data entry, 10 key, and typing skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to use good judgment and question transactions that appear incorrect
Additional Skills and Experience
- Experience with equipment, automotive, or similar inventory-based industries is a plus
- Intermediate Excel skills preferred
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks while maintaining focus and accuracy
- Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions
Work Environment and Schedule
- Standard hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- During training, earlier start times around 7:00 AM may be required
- Flexibility needed during an extended training period
