    Job Description

    Purpose of the Position:

    The Corporate Learning and Development Specialist provides overall support for the Sales Team training by organizing and facilitating engaging and successful trainings, collaborating with leadership team to determine future training needs, ensuring accurate and engaging course materials.

    Responsibilities & Duties:

    • Create and implement training programs that work to connect employees with business goals.

    • Work with management and other leadership positions to identify and evaluate business initiatives to determine appropriate training programs that meet company goals.

    • Develop, manage, and coordinate training requirements based on current and future capability and mandatory needs (sales, compliance, etc.)

    • Continuously make organizational improvements across all departments by evaluating and identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

    • Conduct research and analyze data in relation to the alignment and success of company goals, including identifying skill gaps and developing feedback on training programs.

    • Evaluate feedback from trainees to evaluate the effectiveness of training.

    • Assess the impact of training on Team Member performance.

    • Identify ways to enhance efficiency and adaptability within the organization.

    • Track and report training progress and challenges as they relate to the company’s vision and goals.

    • Designs and implements a variety of initiatives, action plans, programs, and training materials that employ eLearning, virtual learning, site-based training, assessments, and other solutions.

    • Map out annual training plans for Sales Teams.

    • Work with management and IT to develop and implement a Learning Management System (LMS) to support the learning needs of the organization.

    • Manage the Learning & Development shared drive, ensuring information is relevant and up to date.

    • Research industry standards and practices on industry sales training, remaining up to date on developments within the industry and competitors.

    • Serve as a subject matter expert of the systems used by the sales team.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Academic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in training and development, industrial and organizational psychology, or a related field.

    • A minimum of 3 years related experience.

    Work Experience & Skills:

    • Insurance industry experience preferred.

    • Experience working with leaders at all levels of an organization.

    • Highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas and concepts.

    • Excellent organizational, planning, and documentation skills with thorough attention to detail.

    • Work independently, as well as collaboratively toward Team and organizational goals.

    • Demonstrate good judgement with excellent follow-through.

    • Focus on building knowledge of the business and leverage that knowledge effectively.

    • Ability to relate well to a wide range of personalities.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, independently, as well as in a team environment.

    • Excellent follow-up, time management and organizational skills.

    • Strong written and oral communication skills.

    • Enjoys a fast-paced work environment and copes well under pressure.

    • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.

    • Experience working in a startup environment.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
