Job Description

Assisting and forwarding the correspondence to correct revenue cycle departments and personnel. They will be scanning, mailing and faxing medical records, UB and other requested documents from payors, billers and companies.

Assigned Duties :

Different types of correspondences:

• Not actionable items:
  • Approvals
  • When an approval letter is from a payer, it should be uploaded to Cerner promptly.
• Actionable:
  • Denials – Ebotics Roster
  • Upload the denial letter to Cerner
  • Open a Correspondence Review Required work item (Work Item 1010) and assign the work item to a collector based on the provided collector roster list.
• Denial Letters Related to a Patient’s Stay:
  • Upload the denial letter to Cerner.
  • Open a “Correspondence Review Required” work item (Work Item 1010).
• **Audit requests/Findings & Overpayment refund requests **
  • Upload the letter to Cerner
  • Open a Correspondence Review Required work item (Work Item 1010) and assign to Collectors
  • DRG downgrades/denials – Diana Skarbek (certain payers)
• Medical Records / Documentation Requests
  • Assign to collectors for anything that can be uploaded or e-faxed
  • Open a Correspondence Review Required work item (Work Item 1010) and assign to Ebotics collector (use the provided Roster)
  • Assign to Terri for anything that needs to be mailed
  • Open a Correspondence Review Required work item (Work Item 1010) and assign to Terri McCain
• Requests for Additional Documentation (e.g., Medical Records, Itemized Bills, UB-04 Forms):
  • Upload the request letter to Cerner.
  • Assign it to the Yvette to review and process.
  • Fulfill the request by mailing the required documents (medical records, itemized bills, or UB-04 forms) as specified by the payer.
