    Job Description

    Our fast-growing fabrication company is hiring 1-2 positions in our production department. We are looking for an energetic, reliable, enthusiastic, drama free shop hand to join our awesome growing team. This is an entry level position, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to cutting metal, de-burring, grinding, polishing, shop cleanup, etc. If you are mechanically inclined, willing to learn new skills, enjoy working with your hands, are team oriented, you could be an ideal fit for this general shop hand position.

    These are full time entry-level positions, but there is definitely room to grow if you have the skills, drive and are willing to work hard.

    -High school diploma or GED equivalent -Mechanically Inclined -Previous experience in manufacturing or shop work, including metal or wood shop classes. -Aptitude for math -Familiarity with hand tools -Strong communication skills – speak/write English -Physically capable of standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 70 pounds -Ability to work well with a team -Be reliable and on time – good attendance a must -Must pass a Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol screening and participate in the random testing pool -Must pass a background check and motor vehicle record check -Arrange for reliable transportation to and from work -Valid Driver's License

    Additional Information

    GENERAL MACHINE SHOP LABOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Safely learn/operate equipment such as band saw, cut off saw, sander, drill press, grinder and other machinery as required by machinists and assemblers.
    • Basic Manual Mill & Lathe experience is desired.
    • Assemble parts or units, and position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames using hand tools and power tools
    • Utilize hand tools and measuring instruments such as pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, soldering iron, micrometers, calipers and indicators
    • Use routing sheets, operating instruction sheets or other documentation to ensure proper assembly of parts. Perform visual inspection of units during the assembly / manufacturing process.
    • Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner.
    • Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. Keep assigned work-area clean, organized, and orderly.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned
    • Lift heavy material/tooling
    • Clean and maintain shop and equipment/tools as directed

    PAY RATE:  $18.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience 

    EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK -This job operates in a shop environment. Start time varies during heat and workload.  Starts at either 5:00 AM to 7: 00 AM.  OT as required.
