    Job Description

    JOB TITLE: PAYROLL CLERK Cortica is looking for a Payroll Clerk to join its growing team! In this role, you will be a key member of the Finance team and will have significant responsibility for the organization's Payroll and Accounts Payable processes and procedures.     • Provide support for bi-weekly processing of multi-entity, multi-state payroll (ADP Workforce Now Experience a plus!)
    • Manage and maintain the employee expense reimbursement process
    • Work closely with Payroll Manager to research, analyze and resolve payroll related issues or questions
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
    • Respond to external vendors and internal managers regarding all aspects of the accounts payable process, including processing invoices for payment, recording sales tax, assisting with bank reconciliations, and documenting loans
    • Research information to provide accurate and timely solutions to internal clients and vendors at multiple locations
    • Verify the accuracy of vendor invoices and confirm that the correct general ledger account codes are utilized
    • Generate payment to vendors on a routine schedule and match the check with backup for review by the financial manager
    • Inspect paid and unpaid invoices including cleared payment inquiries and check voiding to maintain accurate files and records according to company standards
    • Review automatic payments to ensure correct coding and authorization as well as sufficient contracts and documentation
    • Monitor account balances, track expenses, and prepare analyses of accounts (and related financial activity) to produce monthly financial reports
    • In this role you are occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
    • In this role you must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds

    • You possess at least an associate's degree in accounting
    • You have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in payroll and accounts payable
    • You can work independently and as part of a team
    • You bring excellent problem-solving skills and an outstanding work ethic
    • You possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • You have terrific attention to detail and a demonstratable track record of producing accurate work
