    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Reporting to the Structural Department Manager, this position will be responsible for providing leadership for Fabrication Shop Drawing detailing group.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop detailed steel fabrication drawings including, Material Take-Offs, part list, bolt lists, part details and assemblies.
    • Develop structural 3D models utilizing detailing software.
    • Work closely with all departments in the company to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information.
    • Create detailed bill of materials for purchase orders.
    • Assist in all production activities as required.
    • Self-check own work for completeness, accuracy, compliance to standards, fits and stack-ups.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
    • Initiate and implement continuous improvement of structural detailing standards to improve the efficiency and safe fabrication methods.
    • Coordinate and Check work of CAD detailers (in-house and 3rd party). Assure detailing standards are maintained.
    • Train employees to the Roeslein Detailing Standards and successful methods
    • Coordinate with Designers and Engineers to ensure accurate interpretation of design details and use of good fabrication practices.
    • Assist with estimates and scheduling of detailing work.

     

     

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Travel to Roeslein headquarters in St. Louis MO 1-2 days a week
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Work is performed in a mostly controlled atmosphere.  Some exposure to harsh conditions for short periods of time is possible. 

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.   While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.  Sitting 90%; standing/walking 10%.  Occasionally lift and or move up to 20 pounds and 40 pounds rarely.

     

     

    KNOWLEDGE/ SKILL/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

    • High School Diploma or G.E.D. is strongly preferred.
    • 5-10 years’ experience detailing structures for fabrication.
    • Competence using latest AutoCAD design/drafting software
    • Excellent knowledge of metallic structural materials such as beams, plates, sheets and hollow section shapes.
    • Experience with 3D structural detailing modeling software including TEKLA, SDS2 or equivalent (2-5 years’ experience preferred with TEKLA)
    • Experience with metal fabrication production machinery programming, software and related operations
    • Demonstrated experience detailing in accordance with AISC standards is a plus
    • Computer skills and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows based program are required.
    • Exceptional attention to detail is required.
    • Requires a strong ability to multi-task and flexibility to learn and accept other duties.
    • Candidate must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills, as well as initiative and the ability to delegate decision making and other responsibilities. Ability to handle multiple time sensitive projects and issues.  Must work well under pressure.
    • High level of energy and motivation.
    • Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management, in a team environment.

    • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
    • RN, current in the State of Texas
    • BLS, ACLS Required
