    We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant with 2+ years of relevant experience to join our growing accounting team. This role requires hands-on experience in both general ledger and cost accounting functions within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate cost records, supporting inventory valuation, performing variance analysis, and assisting in financial reporting and month-end close processes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and analyze standard costs of manufactured goods

    • Perform inventory accounting, including reconciliations, adjustments, and cycle count analysis

    • Analyze and report on manufacturing variances (PPV, usage, labor, overhead)

    • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations

    • Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger related to inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS)

    • Assist in developing and maintaining cost accounting systems and procedures

    • Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to understand and explain cost drivers and variances

    • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis related to manufacturing costs

    • Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit processes

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field

    • 2+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

    • Solid understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles

    • Proficiency in general ledger accounting and inventory accounting

    • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) preferred

    • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)

    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with standard costing systems

    • Prior involvement in process improvement or ERP implementation projects

    • CPA or CMA designation (or progress toward) is a plus
