School Based Therapist/Counselor
The Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (CADA) is hiring for school based Therapists for local schools in Carpinteria.
This is a valuable training experience for therapists and counselors interested in working with children/youth and families. Paid training and clinical supervision provided. Opportunity to work for well-established county-wide non-profit organization in collaboration with the school district.
This s a great position for someone interested in working with youth, providing therapy with the support of the school team and your CADA colleagues. Hours coincide with the school schedule so you have regular time off during the school holidays and are mostly working during school hours making it an ideal position for someone who enjoys being available outside of school hours (a parent or someone caring for school age children).
One position is for a School Based Therapist and candidate could be a trainee in practicum or associate.
One position available for a START Therapist which requires Associate or Licensed MFT, CSW, or PCC registered with the BBS
Qualifications:
MFT, AMFT, LCSW, ACSW, LPCC, or APCC with current registration with BBS (or will have registration by school start date- Aug 23rd)
Or
MA in Clinical/Counseling Psychology in process (enrollee in traineeship/practicum)
Experience working with children/adolescents (preferably in school setting)
Bi-lingual (English/ Spanish) preferred
Job duties include:
· Assessment and treatment planning in collaboration with families for referred students
· Ongoing individual therapy for identified clients at their school sites
· Meet with parents/guardians in support of clients
· Support and collaborate with teachers and administrators in advocacy for clients
· Maintain client charts: Completes client assessment, creates treatment plans in conjunction with client/family, and completes progress notes in a timely manner
Clinical supervision (group & triad) provided
Job hours worked coincide with school schedule (must be available during school hours).
Position is for school year (approx. 10 months) with opportunity to renew
This position is full time 30-40 hours per week
Compensation starting at $24/hr
Rate increase for Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) & for relevant training/experience
$500 signing bonus
Benefits eligible position including health, dental, vision, life, retirement, paid time off (vacation, sick, holiday), & education reimbursement.
This is an in-person position and candidate would be required to meet with clients at school site. CADA requires that all staff providing in-person services with clients receive the Covid-19 vaccine.
Position start date: Week of August 15, 2022 (possibility to start earlier if available)
Training to take place between 8/15-8/219. School starts 8/22.
