Counseling Treatment Services
Position: 1 full-time Counselor Position
Serving Children and Adults in Need, Inc., has a substance abuse counselor position available in its inpatient male youth Substance Abuse Treatment Facility.
Work Schedule: 40 Hours per week/8 hours each day (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday schedule)
Location: Laredo, TX.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, documenting substance use history and evaluating physical, mental, emotional, and social impacts to inform treatment recommendations.
- Develop and effectively implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.
- Coordinate with Medicaid managed care insurance companies, facilitating clear communication of observations, treatment recommendations, and patient progress evaluations.
- Regularly monitor patient adherence to treatment plans, assessing goal achievement and making necessary adjustments.
- Facilitate educational sessions and group counseling focused on addiction and recovery.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation of assessments, evaluations, and therapeutic notes.
- Obtain necessary releases of information, ensuring compliance with federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR) when communicating with clients, families, guardians, probation, and healthcare providers.
- Participate actively in clinical team meetings to collaboratively evaluate and track resident's treatment progress.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, criminal justice, etc.)
- Current license as an LCDC or LCDC-Intern
- Prior experience in addiction counseling and treatment planning preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Good computer skills.

Pay range: $22.59 to $24.03 depending on educational qualifications and current license.
