    ABOUT US:

    Country Pure Foods is one of the largest independent fruit juice and fruit drink processors in the United States.

    IN BRIEF:

    We are seeking an Assistant Controller to become an integral part of our team! You will oversee financial activities and personnel as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Assists the Controller in the preparation of reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
    • Assists the Controller in the determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets and the maintenance of the fixed asset sub-ledger.
    • Assists the Controller in providing management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
    • Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
    • Creation and input of routine and as needed JE’s into the General Ledger based on GAAP.
    • Assist in cost development for annual standards and new product development.
    • Provide support in the development of the annual plan and forecast by assisting in the development and analysis of various departmental budgets.
    • Assist and support in the development of PBC schedules for the annual audit.
    • Assist in the planning, organizing, and Managing of the annual physical inventory count and the interim cycle counting to maintain accurate perpetual inventories.
    • Assist with the coordination of month end, quarterly, and year end closings.
    • Prepares and files monthly Sales & Use Tax returns.
    • Compiles, analyzes, and reports the plant’s weekly material shrink.
    • Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.
    • Cross trains on other Financial Department functions and provides backup when needed.
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
    • Follows instructions and responds to supervisor and management direction.

    • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and completes work in timely manner.
    • Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events and reacts well under pressure.

    • Observes safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions.

    • Is consistently at work and on time and commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals, including weekend work as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Accounting or related field, with a minimum of five years related experience in a management or supervisory position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
