    COUNTRYPLACE MORTGAGE, LTD., is currently looking for a RESIDENTIAL MORTGAGE UNDERWRITER to work in our Addison, TX office. We are a strong, reliable company contributing to the mortgage industry and communities throughout 36 states. This position will report to the Residential Mortgage Underwriter Manager.

      JOB DESCRIPTION:

    • Products Underwritten: FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, Construction Loans

    • Analyze and evaluate all aspects of borrower credit, employment, income and asset profile ensuring that all bank, investor and regulatory standards are met.

    • Evaluate the entire credit package and collateral to ensure an investor quality loan product.

    • Communicate decision on loans to appropriate parties both verbally and in writing.

    • Complete a thorough analysis of loan files to determine compliance with company and investor guidelines and standards.

    • Use independent discretion and judgment to make final decision on acceptance or decline of loan request.

    • Review title commitment, appraisal and validate required disclosures meet investor guidelines and standards.

    • Review and clear all conditions of approval prior to issuing clear to close.

    • Display a high level of customer service to your internal and external customers while conducting yourself in a professional manner.

    • Work all loan applications in a manner to maximize acceptance of profitable loans while minimizing acceptance of unprofitable loans.

    • Takes and active role by making recommendations for continuous process improvement within the underwriting process.

       

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • FHA DE Certification preferred, but not required

    • Minimum of 1-2 years previous experience underwriting wholesale and retail Conventional, FHA and USDA loan products.

    • Veterans Administration (VA) Lender Appraisal Processing Program (LAPP) preferred but not required.

    • Bachelor’s degree required.

    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.

    • Ability to read and interpret new regulations and guidelines.

    • Ability to work independently and well with others.

    • Must be authorized to work in United States without a visa.
