    Senior Network and Deployment Engineer

    The Role

    This position will be a key member of the operations team, leading the team to deliver the company’s networking platform and strategy-- from traditional wireless networking to private cellular and public carrier solutions.

    1. You will deliver and oversee the flawless execution of network implementations for our clients—collaborating on design scope; project planning, timeline, client communication, issue resolution and resource escalation to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
    2. You and your team will also work closely with clients to ensure the client's platform and tools are performing properly to deliver the communication and insights they need to run their operations.
    3. You will spend part of your time in the office focused on strategy and support for existing clients, and part of your time on the road with new deployments or routine client visits.
    4. The ability to travel consistently and sometimes with little notice will be critical.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Innovation: Collaborate with the Products team around network strategy and technologies; research and test new and emerging technologies and make recommendations for change as needed; ensure profitable, reliable connectivity options for the client's proprietary platform
    • Continuous improvement: Analyze and improve on existing connectivity strategy, implementation processes and maintenance procedures; collaborate closely with other departments to provide network expertise, seamless integration with platform, device performance standards and prompt resolution to issues
    • Leadership: Provide leadership and support to the operations team, performing management tasks as required; collaborate and integrate with key partners to build relationships and ensure support when needed
    • Technical Aptitude: Design, deploy, support, and troubleshoot networks within new or existing clients; expertise in wireless networking; private cellular and public carrier technology
    • Policies and Procedures: Develop and document operational policies and procedures—from RF design; to configuration, deployment, maintenance, and support

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Develop detailed project plans and manage and control the full project-plan lifecycle—design, implementation, testing and support.
    • Document time and project notes in real time using appropriate systems and communicate regularly with key stakeholders around project status, activities, and achievements.
    • Oversee budgetary, scheduling, and project details, and report regularly to key parties on progress as well as on problems that could significantly affect cost or schedule.
    • Manage compliance with standards and specifications for quality control and assurance.
    • Communicate thoroughly to manage the relationship with the client and all internal or external stakeholders.
    • Identify potential issues and implement solutions proactively to minimize project risks and facilitate issues as needed.
    • Conduct high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption and establish preventive measures.
    • Create and administer testing protocols prior to project sign off.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues following deployments and collaborate with Technical Support resources for ongoing client needs.

    Skills and Experience

    • Ability to travel on a routine basis, sometimes with limited notice (40% travel potential)
    • 5+ years’ experience in network engineering role with industry-standard network training or certifications
    • Extensive understanding of routing and switching.
    • Experience designing and rolling out a wireless network environment or WLAN
    • Experience doing an RF study or heat map study to determine Wi-Fi requirements and dead zones or interference
    • Background in planning and creating a scope of work for clients to include, resource needs, deadlines, full networking equipment planning (routers, switches, cables, access points, management consoles and/or network management systems)
    • Configuration, installation, testing and troubleshooting all wireless network equipment.
    • Experience in field management working in the heavy industrial or manufacturing industries
    • Experience in client site visits to configure, wireless coverage analysis, capacity planning, quality of wireless connections and ideal access point placement by doing off-site pre-deployment surveyson-site surveys, heat map generation and post-deployment performance surveys.
    • Experience in Software/SaaS industry, or related experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Leadership experience
    • Strong client-facing communication skills.
    • Strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills
    • Ability to be on-call for afterhours technical support
    • Must be self-sufficient, confident, and able to communicate at all levels
