    $230K - $250K base / plus bonus

     

    Responsible for leading the technology strategy, innovation, and execution to drive growth and success in the healthcare industry (stop loss quoting, pharmacy procurement, etc.). This position will play a pivotal role in leveraging technology to optimize operational efficiency, enhance customer experience, and deliver strategic value to the organization and its stakeholders.

    Our client is a cloud-based healthcare solutions provider created to simplify and enhance administrative processes by utilizing cutting edge technologies. Combining over a decade of expertise in both the healthcare and technology industries, they offer the first fully Automated Workflow Optimization solution that will drastically reduce processing time and complexity while minimizing the turnaround time for stop-loss quoting, contracting, and accounting. In summary, they are committed to developing smarter automation to existing workflow.

    Qualifications:

    • Kansas City based (open to remote if travel at least once a month)
    • Healthcare background required. Proven track record of leadership and success in senior technology roles within the healthcare industry.
    • Experience building relationships with customers.
    • Manage product, strategy, development.
    • Possess a vision for M&A, new products, and markets.
    • Experience in a company that has grown (grew from 5M to 40M for example).
    • Understand data in the broker community and healthcare.
    • Possess a “founder mentality”, hands on when needed to grow team and company.
    • Experience to scale the business, understand how to scale a business in the software world.
    • Strong executive presence for funding discussions and other strategic endeavors.
    • Ability to see where world is going in AI and other important directions to enhance product.
    • Translate what customers need, which is not always what they are asking for.

    Additional responsibilities:

    • Technology Strategy and Innovation: Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the company's business objectives and growth initiatives. Identify opportunities for technological innovation and differentiation in the healthcare, stop loss insurance, and pharmacy procurement sectors. Stay abreast of emerging trends, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements related to healthcare technology and inform strategic decision-making accordingly.
    • Product Development and Enhancement: Lead the development and enhancement of technology products and solutions tailored to the unique needs of the healthcare, stop loss insurance, and pharmacy procurement markets, etc. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions. Incorporate user feedback, market insights, and data analytics to continuously iterate and improve products and services.
    • Data Management and Analytics: Oversee the collection, storage, and analysis of healthcare data to derive actionable insights and inform decision-making across the organization. Implement robust data governance practices to ensure data quality, integrity, privacy, and compliance with regulatory standards such as HIPAA and GDPR. Utilize advanced analytics techniques, including predictive modeling and machine learning, to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization in stop loss insurance and pharmacy procurement processes.
    • Cybersecurity and Compliance: Establish and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity program to protect sensitive healthcare information, proprietary data, and intellectual property assets. Implement industry-leading security controls, protocols, and technologies to mitigate cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and risks. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices for data security, privacy, and confidentiality.
    • Infrastructure Management and Cloud Computing: Manage the company's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud computing platforms, to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. Evaluate and implement cloud-based technologies and services to enhance agility, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness in delivering healthcare solutions. Monitor infrastructure utilization, capacity planning, and resource optimization to support current operations and future growth initiatives.
    • Vendor Management and Partnerships: Evaluate, select, and manage technology vendors, suppliers, and service providers to support the company's strategic objectives and project initiatives. Establish strong relationships and partnerships with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, insurers, pharmacies, and technology partners. Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing terms to optimize value and ensure alignment with business requirements.
    • Team Leadership and Talent Development: Build and lead a high-performing team of technology professionals, including software engineers, data scientists, IT specialists, and project managers. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the technology organization. Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to empower team members and drive career growth.
    • Thought Leadership and Industry Engagement: Represent company as a thought leader in healthcare technology, stop loss insurance, and pharmacy procurement through speaking engagements, publications, and industry forums. Engage with key stakeholders, thought leaders, and regulatory bodies to shape industry standards, policies, and practices. Stay informed about emerging technologies, market trends, and competitive dynamics in the healthcare sector and share insights internally to inform strategic decision-making.
