    Job Description: This position is part of a team-oriented staff dedicated to providing high-quality care to clients whom are staying at the Covey House for overnight or hourly stays.

    The PA1 is expected to treat every client, client family members, co-workers, case managers, and partners with dignity and respect at all times.

    The PA1 is expected to act as a team member, develop positive work relationships, and collaboratively program with other staff members.

    The PA1 will plan and implement activities for Respite Clients to promote and encourage an environment conducive to safe, healthy, and independent lifestyles.

    The PA1 will perform duties that contribute to the physical wellbeing of our clients including personal cares, eating, and hygiene as ascribed by the Covey’s best practices and the client’s care plan.

    The PA1 will be able to pass medication to clients within 60 days of employment with Covey.

    PA1 duties also include house cleanliness, equipment care, meal preparation, and provide client transportation according to the Covey House best practices.

    PA1’s will complete thorough documentation as needed.

    PA1’s may be assigned other duties at the discretion of the manager which benefit the organization.

    PA1’s may provide transportation for clients as needed.

    PA1’s will handle the day to day operations of the program and problem-solve to address issues.

    All Covey employees are mandated reporter.

    All Respite Staff are required to work every other weekend.

    All Respite Staff are required to attend staff meetings.

    Physical Requirements: Must be able to stoop, stand, pull, push, hear, kneel, see, walk, grab, reach, talk, and lift 50 lbs. Position may require lifting or assistance with transferring. (reasonable accommodations can be made)

    Qualifications: The right candidate will possess these qualities as well as a positive “can-do” attitude

    High School Diploma or GED

    Experience in working with people with disabilities

    Good communication skills both verbal and written

    Ability to maintain confidentiality

    Must be able to pass a criminal and driving records investigation

    Successfully complete a pre-employment physical including a TB test and drug screen

    Must be 18 years old with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
