    LOGISTICS SALES REPRESENTATIVE

    Cowan Systems, LLC has a strong foundation in the transportation industry, and provides all services a shipper could require. We have a network of intermodal locations, a large fleet consisting of 1,500 power units and 5,000 trailers, a full service logistics division, and warehouses that fulfill distribution needs.

    Cowan Logistics, a division of Cowan Systems, LLC, serves as a freight brokerage, and is seeking motivated individuals looking to start their career with a growing organization in a steady industry. The Logistics Sales Manager role is an exciting inside sales opportunity that provides the ability to develop a book of business for our logistics division. We provide a full training program, room for growth and advancement within the organization, and a competitive compensation structure.

    SUMMARY OF POSITION:

    Logistics Sales Representatives develop and maintain client relationships by developing effective ways to transport customers’ freight utilizing Cowan Logistics’ services. This role serves in a sales capacity and communicates with both customer and carrier contacts. Responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships, assessing client specific needs, promoting and selling Cowan services, and maintaining sales goals and objectives. Positions offers base salary plus uncapped commission.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients
    • Cultivate new sales leads to establish business
    • Sell and negotiate Cowan Logistics’ services
    • Responsible for securing and maintaining new business
    • Provide quotes for current and prospective clients
    • Ability to make phone calls and spend in excess of four hours on the telephone every day
    • Update and maintain Logistics Management System
    • Perform analytical and logistics planning
    • Proactively identify problems and implement effective solutions
    • Provide follow-up customer satisfaction with clients as needed
    • Achieve individual, team, and company goals
    • Work closely with Logistics Managers to ensure customer freight is being moved efficiently

     

     

    SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to work both independently and within a team

    • Extremely organized and detail oriented

    • Must possess a strong work ethic

    • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to negotiate rates, sell services, and build professional relationships via telephone and email

    • Strong communication (both verbal and written), problem solving, and decision making skills
