WILDERNESS ASSISTANT SKILLS INSTRUCTOR/CAMP COUNSELOR - SEASONAL

Boulder, CO with additional work available in Grand Junction (3 weeks) and Durango (2 weeks) for someone able to travel.

$18.00 to $23.00 - DOE & mileage reimbursement between three camp locations
Outside with kids all summer
Learn and Teach Bushcraft and Survival Skills to kids age 6 to 14.
Join a team from multiple states and connect with a larger summer camp and bushcraft community.
Expand your experience in working outside.
Increase your experience with outdoor experiential education.
Requirements:
Ability to work effectively and dynamically with young people aged 6 - 14 (Experience preferred but not required).
Outdoor skills with bushcraft, survival, outdoor recreation, etc… (background preferred but need not be ‘expert’).
Deliver outdoor skill content curriculum confidently and effectively.
Ability to work independently and communicate as a team member.
Maintain and administer an organized camp
FT must be able to commit to full summer work from early June through end of August.
All instructors are background checked.
Bonus if you're able to travel to the three locations, not required.
The Daily Work:
40 and 32.5 hour work weeks (day camp only)
Assist in teaching groups of kids outdoor and survival skills including: shelter, knots, knives, fire, navigation, foraging, cordage, fishing, hunting, archery etc.
A full day of making a difference for others and being engaging.
Work autonomously and interact with parents and public at site locations.
Manage safety, curriculum and behavior during programming with groups of 6-9 years old or 9-14 years old.
A typical week is working from 8:30-4:30 in a municipal or county park setting, M-F.
If applying for all three locations, camping and travel are a part of the job. Gas reimbursements between locations provided, housing not provided.
