    Requirements:

    Experience working effectively with young people - pre-teens and early teens.

    Work related/or education based experience with outdoor skills, bushcraft, survival, outdoor recreation, etc.

    Have demonstrated (thru work history or education projects) delivery of outdoor skill content curriculum confidently and effectively.

    Ability to be highly autonomous.

    Effective communicator and team player.

    Experience with maintaining and administering an organized camp.

    Willing and able to drive to work sites that may be at various locations in Corvallis area.

    Spring term is appx 15 hours, summer work is FT (if desired)

    All instructors are background checked.

    The Daily Work:

    Assist homeschool and/or afterschool programs (9am-2pm, afternoons)

    Assist and teach groups of kids outdoor and survival skills including: shelter, knots, knives, fire, navigation, foraging, cordage, fishing, hunting, archery etc.

    Opportunity to make a difference for others and be engaging.

    Work autonomously and interact with parents, school administrators, and the public at site locations.

    Manage safety, curriculum and behavior during programming with groups of 6-9 years old or 9-14 years old.

    We are looking for a candidate with experience as outdoor educators and interest in leadership at work. The right candidate will be trained and guided into leadership of diverse programming including various age groups, technical content, and logistical context. We are growing and looking for a candidate that is ready and able to contribute in the present and creatively toward program and curricular elevation. Our intention is to create consistency in programming by hiring a lead who is able to largely manage local Corvallis based programming (PT during school year and FT available in summer if desired).

    The right candidate should have strong professional skills (timely, good communication, diplomatic), be competent with a wide variety of outdoor skills and have a strong inclination toward instruction and leadership.
