    Kansas City Royals Sports Nutrition Intern CPSDA - Kansas City, MO Internship Kansas City Royals Sports Nutrition Intern Emphasis: Sports Nutrition with some Clinical, Foodservice Management, and Community Nutrition. Length: 3 months Summer Internship. Start Date: ASAP End Date: August / September. Location: Surprise, AZ Financial Stipend: No Other Stipends: Meals Required Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in nutrition related field accredited through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; Registered Dietitian (R.D.) or on track to acquiring R.D. ; 1 year of experience working in collegiate athletic department and/or professional sports organization. Help oversee minor league catering needs (home and away) for all full-season and short season affiliates. Including gathering details, connecting with visiting clubhouse manager and home strength and conditioning coach on the needs and goals, locating caterers, setting up menus and coordinating day of details. Help oversee the training table setup and ensure proper placement of food items and create labels before meals.Help oversee and implement menus for meals/snacks while ensuring all specifications are met. Help administer any Medical Nutrition Therapy interventions per the ANDs standards of care and best practices for those who have been diagnosed by our Team Physician with a medical nutritional need or complication and monitor and follow-up on player compliance and outcomes. Help conduct one-on-one nutrition sessions, create personalized meal plans and nutrition goals, give team nutrition presentations, lead grocery store tours, create training table food labels, develop nutrition education handouts, update weekly white board education, and update supplement/banned substance education handouts among other materials. Help oversee the inventory and ordering of all weight room recovery station needs for the organization. Help enforce proper hydration and electrolyte consumption during games. Carry out daily tasks such as stocking and maintaining the recovery station, overseeing pre- and post-game meals, setting up supplement stations, managing snack inventory, tracking inventory, ordering supplements, assisting with front-of-house food service operations during meals such as omelet stations and made-to-order dishes. Help with any other duties pertinent to the daily responsibilities of the Sports RD.
