THIS JOB IS MOVING TO BUCHANAN, GEORGIA IN JUNE 2025-NEW HIRES WILL HAVE TO COMMUTE TO ATLANTA LOCATION UNTIL THEN

CRANE OPERATOR

Load/unload or otherwise move inventory through the use of overhead crane or other material handling equipment as specified according to work orders and by directive of supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for operating an overhead crane to lift, move, position, re-position steel material to stock areas.

Load and unload trailers, railroad cars and/or barges.

Log and report inventory location changes computer and/or by paperwork.

Log and tag inventory received according to company procedures.

Assemble customer orders according to work orders

Record pertinent material information to work orders, material, or other forms as specified by management

Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.

Works and coordinates with multiple areas of warehouse, and coworkers to complete tasks.

Maintain compliance with all safety requirements, policies, and procedures.

Safety sensitivity and awareness

Demonstrated initiative to proactively seek out work and complete tasks

Enthusiastic team player with a motivating positive attitude

Committed to a workplace of culture and respect.

Dependable and consistent attendance/punctuality

May need to work overtime and weekends as assigned (depending on business needs).

Performance of other Warehouse or other tasks as required by the absence of a department member or due to the existence of a backlog of work.

Special projects as specified by management.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and write

Candidates with crane experience, material handling experience, and experience working with steel is a plus, but not required. Candidates with no experience are welcome to apply, as we offer On the Job Training.

SHIFTS: 2ND 1PM - 11PM M-TH 3RD 9PM - 7AM M-TH WEEKEND - 6AM - 6PM FRI-SUN HOURLY PAY PLUS BENEFITS 22.00 SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL AVAILABLE FOR WEEKEND AND 3RD SHIFTS
