THE OPPORTUNITY: As a key member of the Accounting and Finance team for this middle market company, the Corporate Controller will be a dynamic, strategic business partner to the Crash Champions Enterprise driving timely, reliable and accurate reporting. It will be incumbent for this leadership role to manage an efficient month end close process, financial consolidation across multiple ERP systems, own debt agree compliance certification, lead and drive annual audit, and develop a best in class finance and accounting function to support the growth trajectory Crash Champions has driven and will continue to drive.
WHERE YOU WILL DRIVE;
Month End Close: drive an efficient, standard and scalable month end close process for current enterprise as well as future M&A integrations. It will be critical to ensure all journal entries are approved, account reconciliations are completed and reviewed, appropriate reserves have been vetted, and financial statements and MD&A are published in an accurate and timely manner.
Finance, Planning and Analysis: build and develop a best-in-class finance team to support an emerging enterprise on fast track to $1B in revenues. Build and model five-year strategic plan. Coordinate bottoms up build budget and implement zero based budgeting for corporate cost centers. Improve forecast process at shop level. Successful business partner relationship with regional leadership to develop General Manager’s financial acumen
Financial Consolidation: facilitate a seamless consolidation of financial statements as we work to migrate all M&A to one common ERP.
Working Capital: attenuate focus across cash, capital expenditure approval and trade working capital to ensure Enterprise is maximizing free cash flow opportunities. It will be critical to provide: An accurate 13 week cash forecast. Capex review and assessment to confirm and validate investments meet Enterprise IRR. Manage critical working capital KPIs (DSO / DOH / DPO) to ensure strong cash conversion
Credit Agreement: manage credit agreement requirements with respect to debt covenant management and certification compliance. Key outcomes will be driven by: An automated, efficient quarterly debt certification process. A bridge and reconciliation of “GAAP” EBITDA to Proforma Bank Reported EBITDA. Manage and coordinate identified synergies to confirm realization
Technical Accounting: monitor all FASB accounting pronouncements as they impact a change in practice or have a financial impact on the Enterprise’s consolidate financial statements. Will be imperative to familiarize the following critical recent accounting pronouncements: ASU 2014-19, Revenue from Contracts with Customers (Topic 606). ASU 2017 -1, Business Combinations (Topic 805) ASU 2016 – 02, Leases (Topic 842) Other pronouncements to be confirmed with CFO
Talent Development: formalize a best in class Finance and Accounting organization to drive standardization, harmonization and scalability as we continue our aggressive M&A strategy.
Business Relationships: maintain an executive presence with all touchpoints outside of Crash Champions 4-walls: AMCO / Board of Directors: ensure all requests are prioritized and submitted with laser focus and accuracy External Auditors and Tax teams: facilitate a timely and successful audit driving accountability of timeline by internal Crash team and our auditors. Tax authorities: manage relationships with taxing authorities to maintain compliance
