- Originate photography budgets and scheduling of photo shoots and teams within the constraints of the annual Marketing (Catalog) Photo Studio budgets and approved special projects, as directed by the executive producer.
- Manage multiple photo shoot schedules, production support staff and photo teams throughout photo shoots.
- Manage the primary job functions of Marketing Photo Studio production team, junior stylists, stylist assistants and freelance talent.
- Act as the liaison between internal and external photography shoot teams.
- Establish and maintain cohesion across freelance photography teams.
- Act as point of contact for teams engaged in photography shoots.
- Act as an accountable corporate representative of by the executive producer, as needed.
- Coordinate production time-lines with art directors and print coordinator.
- Establish and maintain industry contacts and operating standards.
- Manage necessary insurance, permits and security needs for location shoots.
- Manage the coordination of photography initiatives including the cross over between the Marketing and eCommerce Photo Studios.
- Request, review and coordinate photographer and stylist estimates.
- Research, recommend and secure freelance talent and photography locations.
- Manage proper legal applications applied to photography images and usage.
- Assist the executive producer in collaborations with legal department to establish best practices, agreements, and usage of images company-wide.
- Manage the photo studio financial coordinator’s maintenance of photo shoot documents.
- Establish and maintain cost effective best practices for proper resource allocation.
- Oversee reconciliation and audit of incoming photo shoot invoices against active budgets and troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Approve budgeted invoices, travel and entertainment reporting as applied to the marketing (catalog) photo studio budgets, marketing photo studio operating budgets and approved special projects.
- Develop and oversee record retention filing systems.
- Manage all aspects of the execution of photography concepts across all channels as well as budgets including estimates, job payments and reconciliation.
- Negotiate rates and fees for independent contractors, SSTAs, production companies, location scouts and studios, within an approved range.
- Manage the primary job functions of producers, production assistants and junior stylists to ensure completion of tasks and attainment of goals.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with all company associates and business contacts.
- Collaborate with the photo studio manager on general photo studio operations.
- Manage all aspects of the execution of photography concepts across all channels.
- Work with teams to create and adhere to budgets.
- Collaborate across all channels to maximize use of photography assets as well as art directors to support creative teams.
- Provide access to the photography studio for staff; open and close studio, as needed.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years experience in photo studio operations
- Industry knowledge in photography production practices and photo studios
- Bachelor’s degree in related field a plus
- Excellent communication and strong inter-personal/negotiation skills
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills coupled with problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented, demonstrated leadership skills
- Good reading and written language skills (English)
