Public Finance Attorney
Summary
The Public Finance Attorney is a member of our in-house legal team and provides legal services and counsel with
respect to complex bond transactions across a full range of commercial, mixed-use, residential properties. This
individual must have extensive experience in municipal law and public finance transactions and be a licensed
attorney in good standing with the Supreme Court of Ohio.
Job Responsibilities (responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following)
• Represent Crawford Hoying in public finance real estate transactions with municipalities, housing authorities,
finance entities, underwriters, and lenders
• Provide expertise in creating public-private partnerships and development incentives, such as tax increment
financing (TIF) and tax abatements
• Create a deal strategy and drive the process for innovative public financing deal structures
• Oversee all tax aspects of public finance and post-issuance compliance matters
• Identify areas of concern and propose alternative structures to mitigate risks involved in potential transactions
• Oversee the work of external legal firms
• Participate in transaction closings by:
o coordinating public finance closings with private financings
o ensuring document execution and delivery
o maintaining internal communications and coordination
o complying with company standard operating procedures
• Conduct legal research as needed
• Effectively organize and maintain case files
• Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience
• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing with the Supreme Court of Ohio
• 3-7 years of experience in real estate law at a medium- to large-sized law firm
• Expertise in debt financings for governmental purposes and economic development incentives
• Proficiency with Ohio real estate law, limited liability company law, and finance law
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
• Willingness to address conflict quickly and effectively
• Ability to give clear direction and respond to inquiries
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Driver's license
Work Environment
The Public Finance Attorney works out of the corporate office in Dublin, OH, and interfaces with external and internal
customers on a regular basis. The core hours for this position are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
However, hours may vary depending on workload, deadlines, and project timelines.
Reporting Structure
The Public Finance Attorney reports to the Chief Legal Officer.
Physical Requirements
This employee's physical condition and performance must be sufficient for the consistent and successful completion
of the responsibilities and professional standards defined for this position. This position frequently requires standing,
walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, and lifting up to twenty-five pounds. The Public Finance Attorney is
periodically required to drive during the course of the day.
