WE ARE…
An Academic & ADHD coaching practice in the Atlanta area, which was founded in 2013 to empower teens & young adults to earn better grades with less stress by developing the mindset, organization, time management, and study skills they need to thrive.
We are looking for energetic, motivated coaches to join our team in the Atlanta area and work 1:1 with middle school, high school, and college students at our two locations in the Atlanta area and virtually through Zoom meeting.
YOU ARE...
- A college graduate with a background in teaching, counseling, tutoring, academic coaching, or professional organizing
- In the Atlanta area, and able to meet with students in North Druid Hills or Roswell
- Available to work at least 10 hours / week, after school or on weekends
- A “people-person” with lots of positive energy, who enjoys interacting with others and going above & beyond to make sure they feel heard, understood and cared for
- An amazing listener. You're the person who friends & family come to with their problems because they know they can count on you to stay calm, see both sides to every situation, and help resolve the problem (without telling them what to do)
- An optimist by nature, who is always able to see the bright side in any situation, and inspires others with your positive energy & enthusiasm
- Great at keeping in touch with people, and happy to have an excuse to jump on the phone with someone or reach out by email or text. (You can't remember the last time you've had an email sitting in your inbox for more than a day!)
- Highly organized and efficient… you're the type of person who gets a thrill out of visiting the Container Store, and writes things down on your to-do list even after you've done them…just for the fun of checking them off. You do things well AND you do them quickly.
- The opposite of a procrastinator; you would much rather complete tasks way before the deadline than be rushing to finish them at the last minute.
- Interested in positive & educational psychology, and LOVE learning new things
- Internally motivated, and committed to doing excellent work
- Excited by the idea of being part of a small, growing business that has a positive impact on the lives of students and their families, and helps young adults in reaching their full potential…you want to feel like your work is making a difference in the world.
- Excited about the idea of joining and playing a key role in a small, growing company...but don't have the time, energy, or desire to create a business of your own
- Able to commit to this position for at least a year
THE POSITION
You will join our team on a part-time basis as an independent contractor, and work directly with our founder to learn how to effectively coach stressed-out and underperforming students to help them learn how to earn better grades with less stress.
As an Academic & ADHD coach, you will have an opportunity to make a positive difference in the day-to-day lives of students and their families by empowering teens to develop the time management, organization, study skills, and mindset they need to reach their goals.
Some examples of your RESPONSIBILITIES will include…
· Meeting with students for weekly sessions, at our Atlanta or Roswell offices or online
· Sending out session summary reports to students & parents after each meeting
· Checking in with students by text or email between sessions
· Meeting with parents for check-in calls to discuss students' progress
· Monitoring students' grades online
· Reaching out to students' teachers, counselors, and/or tutors, as needed
· Attending regular team meetings & training sessions
The starting rate for this position is $35-$40/hour.
There will be a paid 12-week training period for new coaches, during which you will work closely with our founder to learn the ins and outs of leading students through the coaching process.
After this training period, you will have the freedom to coordinate a mutually agreeable time to meet with your students and adjust the days you work to fit your schedule. We typically meet with students in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
