    Position Summary

    Lead the creative function at a strategic level, setting the high-level vision and brand strategy. This person will lead a Creative team and partner closely with Communications and Multimedia leaders, as well as marketing and business leaders across the organization to deliver impactful, consistent, and strategically aligned branding across all platforms and major initiatives.

    The Creative Director role will provide the vision, structure, and leadership needed to elevate our brand and support cross-functional collaboration across the organization. This person should be experienced in leading and inspiring teams and have a strong project management mindset.

    Position Details

    • Creative Vision & Strategy
      • Define and maintain the overarching creative direction for the Southland brand.
      • Translate business priorities and strategic initiatives into creative concepts and campaigns.
      • Serve as the creative voice in major initiatives and executive communications.
    • Brand Stewardship
      • Own the integrity and evolution of the brand identity to mirror and represent the company through growth and change.
      • Maintain consistency across digital, print, environmental, and experiential touchpoints.
      • Oversee the development of all branded content, guidelines, and creative standards.
    • Creative Team Leadership
      • Lead, mentor, and develop a growing team of designers spanning early careers to senior manager.
      • Provide clear creative direction and foster a collaborative and innovative creative culture.
      • Partner with marketing functional leads (Comms, Multimedia) to ensure alignment on priorities, workflows, and processes.
    • Creative Operations & Process
      • Establish creative processes and approval structures.
      • Leverage project management resources to support prioritization, timelines, and workload planning.
      • Leverage team assets and strengths to execute day-to-day creative output.

    Qualifications

    • 15+ years of senior creative leadership experience, with a background in design, visual communications, art direction, or related creative fields
    • Proven ability to lead a creative team and manage multiple projects at varying levels of complexity.
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, brand storytelling, and multichannel creative work.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence non-creative audiences.
    • Experience with mergers and acquisitions preferred.
