Staff Accountant - Government Contracting Role!

ABOUT THE COMPANY AND OPPORTUNITY:
· Our client is a government contractor providing program management, consulting and training solutions
· Founded in 1975, a well-established leader in the industry
· This position will work closely under the Controller – a seasoned leader with extensive government contracting accounting experience
· Our client needs additional accounting support due to the current workload
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· A/P: 50-80 vouchers per week (including expense reports)/week – could come from mail, or from satellite offices via email. a/p and cash disbursements are done in house, data entry
· A/R Support – All bills are done manually (invoice is prepared), cash receipts
· Payroll Support/Data entry: 115 employees, biweekly (26 payrolls), multi-state (including offices/companies in IN, TN, AZ – there are 5 different companies that payroll is prepared for)
· Additional accounting projects, as requested
REQUIREMENTS:
· Degree preferred, but not required if have equivalent experience (at least 2-3 years experience with heavy a/p or other accounting work)
· Project based accounting preferred
· Government contractor accounting preferred
· ERP system experience. Deltek Costpoint is the software used and previous Deltek experience is a plus but not required as long as candidates have worked with another system
· Basic Excel skills
