ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Our client in STAMFORD, CT is looking for an ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT to join their team! They are a strong non-profit organization that focuses on direct care and day programs that teach daily living skills. They have been supporting Stamford and surrounding towns for over 50 years and are dedicated to these individuals and their families! We have heard great feedback from employees we have placed here!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Get approved voucher enter in system print out checks put in department heads mailbox for signature approval
• High volume invoice processing 1,000 invoices per year processed in Great Plains
• File Invoices from previous year
• Post Journal Entries to General Ledger
• Comfortable reviewing invoices processed through ACH and verifying balances with corresponding bank accounts.
• Ordering supplies for departments as needed
• Follow-up with vendors to obtain w9s and other necessary paperwork

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Great Plains would be a huge plus
• 2 years of AP/AR experience
• Previous bookkeeping experience would be a plus
