    Job Description

    Creative Financial Staffing is working with a non-profit organization looking to find an ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR to join their team. ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION SEEKING AN ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR:

     

    • Our client is a nonprofit human services organization that each year provides more than 100,000 low income residents in the Greater Boston region with the tools and resources needed to transition from poverty to stability and from stability to success
    • They uses a comprehensive approach that systematically addresses the range of barriers faced by households in poverty, from day-to-day crises to longterm needs for jobs and education
    • This organization has great longevity in the careers of its employees, with many staying five, ten, or more years in the organization

    RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR:  

    • Managing accounts payable including check runs, travel expense reimbursement, and general ledger reconciliations
    • Coordinating with other departments to efficiently control purchase orders
    • Managing accounts receivable including cash receipts and general ledger posting
    • Responsible for 1099 insurance
    • Supervising the work of two (2) accounting clerks focusing on AP and AR
    • Assist the Accounting Manager with ad hoc projects as necessary

    BACKGROUNDS EXPECTED OF THE ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR:  

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, related field or experience equivalent
    • 3 - 5 years' experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payable
    • Experience in Blackbaud Financial Edge is a major plus
    • Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds
