    Creative World School Cypress TX is seeking an experienced Assistant Director to join our team! You must have a genuine love for children and AT LEAST ONE YEAR EXPERIENCE as an Assistant Director in ECE (Early Childhood Education) field.A Creative World School Assistant Director is a flexible role, tasked with performing duties as assigned by the Leadership, following Creative World School policies and procedures and licensing regulations.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    Maintaining the smooth day-to-day operations of the day care facility in order to create a safe, loving, and nurturing learning environment for the children in our care (aged 6 weeks to 6 years + BASC).

    An ability to maintain the center in the director's absence and open or close the center as may be needed by Leadership.

    Enrolling, touring, and interacting with families in person or by phone and computer.

    Administrative tasks, accurate record-keeping, and communication.

    Supporting staff and teachers as needed in the classroom.

    Cultivating a professional and upbeat team spirit within the school.

    Assisting and coaching staff with training and duties as directed by Leadership.

    The Assistant Director administers and directs the center in the Director’s absence and completes duties as assigned by the Director.

A Creative World Assistant Director is responsible for providing a safe, educational and customer service-focused experience to our families and children.

    Environment

    Maintain a safe and stimulating environment for young children.

    Ensure children are supervised at all times.

    Oversee that all record-keeping is properly completed, logged, and filed as required: transition sheets, daily sheets, medication forms, portfolio and assessments, accident and incident reports, etc.

    Ability to apply and explain Creative World educational philosophy, policies, and licensing regulations.

    Children and Families

    Greet the children and their families warmly and enthusiastically each day.

    Maintain positive informal and formal communication with families on a daily basis.

    Maintain open, friendly, and cooperative relationships with each child’s family and encourage their involvement in the program.

    Curriculum

    Model, mentor, and train staff in child-centered, developmentally appropriate practices to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the school.

    Model, mentor, and provide activities and opportunities that encourage inquiry curriculum and the curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving appropriate to the developmental levels of the children.

    Oversee documentation of children’s curriculum experiences through displays and pictures.

    Oversee the ongoing assessments and collection of work samples and documentation for children’s portfolios in supervised classrooms.

    Oversee the establishment of routines and use of positive and constructive guidance methods

    Observe and record significant individual and group behavior among children and teachers.

    Supervise ordering and disbursement of classroom supplies and materials.

    Hiring, Evaluation, and Supervision

    Work cooperatively and effectively as a team member by communicating and contributing information on a continuous basis and creating a supportive environment.

    Supervise and train teachers to create developmentally appropriate lesson plans. Review teachers’ plans each week and monitor their implementation.

    Ensure supervised staff complies with Creative World Policies, childcare licensing, and health regulations.

    Assist in interviewing prospective teachers for supervised classrooms.

    Assist in evaluating, setting goals, mentoring, coaching, and providing constructive feedback to supervised employees.

    Professionalism

    Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.

    Maintain confidentiality of children, families, co-workers, and the school.

    Continue professional development by attending workshops, conferences, and other staff development opportunities.

    Attend and contribute to staff meetings and special events.

    Report to Director or other members of Leadership Team any special needs or problems with children, families, or other staff members.

    Perform general custodial responsibilities for classrooms as needed.

    Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Flexible enough to work any hours deemed necessary.

    Ability to work independently with little direction.
