Job Summary

We are seeking a Commercial Loan Review Specialist to join our team! As a Commercial Loan Review Specialist on our team, your responsibilities will include evaluating creditworthiness, assessing risk, and supporting commercial lending decisions through in-depth financial analysis and reporting. This role works closely with the Vice President and other stakeholders to ensure sound credit practices and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to relationship management and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

Oversee multiple client portfolios to determine creditworthiness and risks associated with them

Evaluate the financial health and creditworthiness of individuals and businesses seeking commercial mortgages and other credit products

Analyze tax returns, financial statements, cash flow projections, and personal financials to assess repayment ability.

Develop and maintain detailed loan write-ups and credit memos for new applications, renewals, and annual reviews

Meet with clients to build and strengthen relationships

Qualifications

2–5 years of experience in commercial credit analysis, lending, or financial underwriting

Strong understanding of financial statements, credit scoring models, and commercial loan structures

Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise credit summaries

Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and credit analysis or core banking systems

Previous experience in a financial institution desired
