Crew Lead – Pavement Maintenance
We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and motivated Crew Lead to oversee field operations across a range of pavement maintenance and repair services. This role is responsible for leading a crew in the successful completion of projects including infrared pothole repair, sealcoating, crack sealing, line striping, concrete repair, and power washing.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of managing job sites from start to finish while ensuring high-quality workmanship, safety compliance, and efficient production. This is a working leadership role requiring both field execution and crew supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a field crew performing a variety of pavement maintenance services including:
Infrared pothole repair
Asphalt sealcoating
Crack sealing
Pavement marking / line striping
Concrete repair and patching
Surface preparation and power washing
Ensure all work is completed to company standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
Operate a variety of equipment including (but not limited to):
Striping machines and spray systems
Sealcoating equipment
Crack sealing melters and applicators
Infrared repair units
Power washers and surface prep tools
Read and interpret job scopes, layouts, and markings to ensure accurate execution of work.
Oversee daily job site setup, production workflow, and cleanup.
Maintain productivity, quality control, and jobsite safety at all times.
Communicate effectively with project managers, customers, and internal team members.
Train, mentor, and support crew members to improve performance and consistency.
Track materials, equipment usage, and crew hours; complete daily job reports accurately.
Ensure equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and ready for use.
Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in pavement maintenance, construction, asphalt, concrete, or commercial painting/striping a plus.
Prior supervisory or crew lead experience strongly preferred.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain DOT eligibility.
Experience driving a work truck with trailer (including backing, loading, and safe transport of equipment).
Experience operating or willingness to learn multiple types of field equipment.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices and OSHA compliance.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
CDL a plus but not required.
Willingness to work nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed (many projects are off-hours).
