Crew Leader - Tree Care Services

Tri-State Tree Service is seeking an experienced Crew Leader with a passion for arboriculture to join our award-winning team.

About the Role

We're looking for a dedicated professional to ensure operational efficiency while maintaining the highest client standards. In this hands-on leadership position, you'll conduct site inspections, provide expert guidance for pruning and tree removal operations, manage vehicle maintenance, and train personnel with an unwavering focus on safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Safety

• Supervise all tree care activities, ensuring crew members have required safety equipment and training

• Maintain highest safety standards and ensure compliance with company policies and ANSI/OSHA regulations

• Lead crew communications to achieve exceptional safety, quality, and customer satisfaction

• Train and mentor less experienced employees

Technical Operations

• Perform all aspects of tree care according to specifications and ANSI standards

• Operate specialized equipment including chainsaws, chippers, tractors, and skid steers

• Conduct periodic maintenance and repairs on equipment

• Drive trucks with trailers, including mandatory daily safety inspections

Quality Assurance

• Execute tree care operations with attention to detail and adherence to industry best practices

• Ensure all work meets company standards for quality and customer satisfaction

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years verifiable tree care experience with emphasis on climbing/bucket truck operation

• Valid driver's license with clean driving record (no major violations)

• Proven experience managing crews of climbers and ground personnel

• Strong multitasking and prioritization skills

Technical Skills

Proficiency in: rigging, pruning, felling techniques, climbing techniques, tree identification, safety protocols and PPE usage

Preferred Experience

• Crane operation experience

• Cabling, planting, and Plant Health Care (PHC) knowledge

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in various weather conditions

• Capability to lift 30-40+ pounds regularly

• Comfortable with extensive standing and physical demands

Work Schedule
