    Title: Criminal and DWI Defense Attorney/Lawyer Do you have a passion for courtroom advocacy? Do you aspire to represent individuals and make a difference in their lives? Our firm is currently seeking a criminal defense attorney/lawyer with the ability to handle court proceedings, engage with clients, and conduct consultations with leads. The ideal candidate possesses courtroom experience and exceptional interpersonal communication skills. Responsibilities: Our “Responsible Attorneys” manage a caseload based on jurisdictions. You will have primary responsibility for everything that happens in the cases assigned to you, including: • Conducting evidentiary hearings, depositions, and trials • Meeting with clients to discuss discovery and negotiate pleas • Communicating with prosecutors, judges, and court representatives • Participating in docket calls in state and municipal courts • Performing legal investigations and preparing documents • Handling consultations with leads and assisting in signing them up • Attending legal proceedings, carrying out legal analysis, and providing legal advice with the help of experienced lawyers • Collaborating with clients and colleagues to reach resolution of cases • Analyzing disputes in legal issues, counseling clients on solutions, and negotiating on behalf of clients • Managing case files by ensuring that the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff You will report to a Supervising Attorney, who will mentor you and help you with things that are new to you. And you will work closely with the Client Care Team to make sure clients are fully informed about the status of their case at all times. Qualifications: The ideal person to fill this role will be an organized, responsible self-starter with integrity and a positive attitude. The applicant should be eager to learn and motivated to obtain the best possible outcomes for clients. Other requirements include: • Possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. • Be a licensed attorney in the state of Missouri. • Possesses strong typing and technology skills. • Proficient in computer skills and technology, including Word, Excel, database software, and Outlook. • Demonstrate excellent organizational and follow-up skills. • Be an effective communicator in both oral and written form. • Showcase great time management and problem-solving capabilities. • Be able to work well alone as well as be part of a team. • Professional demeanor and excellent people skills • Exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion. • Have an Illinois law license (preferred but not necessary) • Have satisfactory results in relevant assessments. • Be a self-reliant individual who thrives on learning and obtaining the best results for clients. • Possess a 'growth mindset' and be open to utilizing technology. Compensation: $80,000 - $115,000 yearly
